About the role
Bunge is seeking a permanent full-time Grain & Cotton Merchant to join our Queensland accumulation team.
On the East Coast, our focus is on the accumulation and supply of grains, cereals, cotton and pulses for both bulk and container export, as well as domestic markets.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with growers and industry stakeholders to support grain purchasing activities.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and analysing supply and demand trends, overseeing supply chain logistics, and managing accumulation-related administrative tasks.
You will also work closely with the Trade Desk to coordinate accumulation requirements and pricing strategies.
Additionally, you will represent Bunge at grower meetings, field days, and industry events.
Some travel, primarily within Queensland and Northern New South Wales, will be required.

Duties
- Build strong relationships with growers, consultants and brokers.
- Liaise with Trade Desk staff regarding accumulation requirements.
- Purchase grain, cotton and pulses to achieve accumulation targets.
- Co-ordinate with bulk handling companies to ensure plans can be executed.
- Assist with analysis of the grain and cotton supply chain and shipping stems.
- Enter data into the CRM and encourage others to do the same.
- Monitor updates on weather, production, logistics, competitors, shipping and any other supply or demand attributes.
About you
- Experience working in a broadacre agriculture business, applicants with agronomy and rural finance experience are encouraged to apply
- Graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Ability to travel within Queensland and Northern New South Wales to attend a variety of meetings, growers and events
- Sound understanding of cropping systems and modern farming practices
- Empathy with rural communities
- Strong understanding of the Australian grain industry and industry participants
- High level analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Computer skills and the ability to use MS Office products
