What’s the role?
This on-site / telehealth role based in Darwin, NT is suitable for a Psychotherapist, Psychologist (including provisional), Clinical Counsellor, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner.
The clinician will provide short-term psychotherapy and counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups with diverse needs. Responsibilities include developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, conducting assessments, maintaining confidential records, and collaborating with staff.
The ideal candidate will work from a client-centered approach and have skills or experience in solution-focused interventions such as CBT, DBT, or EFT.
Is this the right role for you?
* Qualified or higher degree in Psychology, Psychotherapy, Counselling, or a related field
* Current AHPRA registration in the related field
* Minimum 5 years of experience
* Experience providing individual and group psychotherapy and counseling, with knowledge of evidence-based practices
* Strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for mental health issues
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport
* Ability to adapt treatment plans to individual client needs
* Knowledge of professional ethics, privacy, and confidentiality, and maintaining accurate records
* Experience working with diverse populations, including people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, CALD communities, and LGBTIQA+ community
* Trauma-informed care knowledge and experience working with trauma survivors is highly desirable
* EMDR training is desirable but will be provided within the first 6 months for the right candidate
NT PHN / RWA NT may offer relocation support and financial assistance for clinical education to health professionals moving to or within the NT for employment or further education.
