Lead early childhood health outreach across Central Australia to make a lasting impact on children and families in diverse NT communities.
As the Nurse/Midwife Specialist, you will work in the Healthy under 5 Kids Partnering Families program to provide specialist clinical outreach care to children under 5 years and their families.
You'll provide early intervention strategies and education to Population and Primary Health Care staff with a focus on improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families in a culturally appropriate manner.
The HU5KPF program incorporates growth and development assessments, vaccinations, parenting support and advice in age-specific child health checks.
About You
* Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
* High-level clinical knowledge and skills in Child and Family Health or related field, supported by strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to a learning culture through clinical guidance and mentoring.
* Ability to travel to remote communities by 4WD or light aircraft as required.
* A current vaccination certificate (or eligible to obtain).
* Hold a current NT driver's licence (or eligible to obtain) and be confident driving a manual vehicle in regional and remote settings.
