The Opportunity
Visy Food Can is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead operations at our Shepparton site. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will oversee day‐to‐day operations in a 24/5 environment. This role is focused on aligning teams, setting clear standards and ensuring consistent execution across shifts.
You'll play a key role in lifting capability, strengthening frontline leadership, and ensuring the site operates in line with Visy's safety, food safety and performance expectations in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop Production Supervisors and Maintenance Leaders
* Drive a strong safety culture and ensure full HSE compliance
* Ensure compliance with FSSC, ISO, HACCP and GMP standards
* Deliver site production, quality and performance targets (OEE, waste, downtime)
* Optimise labour, materials and machine utilisation for efficiency
* Partner with Maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime
* Maintain strong on‐floor presence, reinforcing standards and resolving issues in real time
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives using data (OEE, MTBF, MTTR)
* Manage operational costs including labour, materials and conversion costs
* Support budget delivery and drive productivity improvements
What You Will Bring
* Proven leadership experience in high‐volume, shift‐based manufacturing (FMCG or packaging)
* Strong experience working within HACCP, GMP and food safety environments
* Track record delivering safety, quality and performance outcomes
* Experience leading frontline leaders and building accountability
* Strong continuous improvement capability with Lean exposure
* Commercial awareness with the ability to influence cost and performance outcomes
* Strong communication, coaching and problem‐solving skills
