About The Role
This newly created position is part of a major multi‑year digital modernisation program. The Principal Business Analyst will lead complex analysis work supporting the delivery of a new enterprise platform, replacing legacy systems and enhancing user experience. The role involves managing high‑level business requirements, stakeholder engagement, and data‑driven decision‑making to support effective digital delivery.
Principal Business Analyst – $1,010.53/day + super
Location: Hybrid – Rawson Place / Parramatta Square (2 office days, moving to 3 in 2026; NSW residents only)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12 months with potential extension
Working Hours: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery activities to define business requirements, processes, and workflows
Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into system solutions
Oversee documentation, process mapping, and requirements traceability
Support legacy system decommissioning and transition to new CRM/BPM platforms
Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers on solution delivery
Participate in Agile ceremonies, reviews, and iterative delivery processes
Contribute to risk‑management, governance, and progress reporting
Coach and mentor junior business analysts to build internal capability
Liaise with technology, operations, and policy teams to ensure alignment
Develop test cases and support quality assurance and user acceptance testing
Assist with operational readiness, training, and post‑implementation hyper‑care
About You
Proven experience in senior or principal business analyst roles within complex environments, ideally in the government sector
Demonstrated success in large‑scale digital transformation or CRM/BPM implementations
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and business case development
Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, Jira, Miro, and MS Suite
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Experience with AI‑driven process improvement or automation (advantageous)
Ability to mentor and uplift capability within multi‑disciplinary teams
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and digital delivery frameworks
Familiarity with public sector or large‑scale enterprise projects preferred

The client is a major Federal Government department responsible for infrastructure, transport, regional development, communications, sport, and the arts. The Change and Project Management Office (CaPMO) leads strategic initiatives to enhance program governance, performance reporting, and portfolio visibility.
About The Role
The Business Analyst will be responsible for conducting research, analysis, and discovery activities to inform the design and implementation of a new Program and Project Management and Reporting Tool (PPMRT). The position will evaluate existing frameworks, document business processes, and engage stakeholders across multiple divisions.
Rate
– $850‑1,000 daily + super
Location
– Canberra (flexible work arrangements may be considered)
Duration
– 12‑month contract with possible extension
Start Date
– ASAP
Key Responsibilities
Review existing project management and reporting processes across the department
Engage with project managers, business owners, and senior stakeholders to gather and validate requirements
Develop detailed business requirements, including functional and non‑functional specifications
Document current and future state workflows to support design and change planning
Facilitate communication between business and technical teams
Support creation of Project Management Plans aligned to scope and governance requirements
Produce key artefacts including discovery reports, comparative analyses, and recommendation papers
Evaluate internal systems and hybrid options for integration into the new PPMRT
About You
Experienced Business Analyst with strong capability in requirements definition and business modelling
Skilled in process improvement, feasibility assessment, and change management (SFIA Level 4‑5 equivalent)
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience facilitating workshops and co‑design sessions
Proven ability to produce detailed documentation and actionable insights
Understanding of project management frameworks and system design
Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving skills
Must have a baseline security clearance
