Troocoo is partnering with a leading federal mental health service to recruit multiple APS 5 Community and Peer Workers. These roles provide an opportunity to support current and former ADF members and their families through recovery‐oriented, trauma‐informed mental health support.
We are offering initially a 12‐month contract with possible extension, recruiting across the following locations:

About the Role
* Provide personalised, goal‐focused peer support to veterans, current ADF members, and their families.
* Collaboratively develop Individualised Action Plans addressing client goals and needs (e.g., housing, counselling, community connection).
* Use your lived experience to build rapport, empower clients, and model recovery‐oriented practice.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to case reviews and co‐facilitating group programs.
* Promote services within the veteran community and build networks with support organisations to reduce barriers to care.
* Maintain accurate, confidential records and administrative documentation.
* Participate in ongoing professional development, supervision, and peer networks.
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Lived experience of military service or military family life, and a mental health journey (including as a relative/carer of an ex‐ADF member).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* High integrity, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Highly Regarded
* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain.
* Experience delivering peer support services.
* Experience in the mental health sector or mentoring/coaching individuals.
Mandatory Requirements
* Working with Children and/or Vulnerable People Check prior to commencement.
* Australian citizenship.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.
* Successful completion of a pre‐engagement screening check.
