About North East Link
The Spark Consortium has been selected for the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victorias biggest road project. The Spark Consortiums Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild CPB Contractors GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
Please be advised that this project is a large scale T1 project with potential for 24 / 7 shift work whilst we will aim for weekend work to be split fairly between employees there may be role requirements on occasion for evening shift work.
About the Opportunity
The Senior Project Engineer - Building Services will be responsible for managing and coordinating building services subcontractors to ensure compliance with design specifications seamless trade integration cost and schedule control and successful system commissioning supporting the efficient delivery of fit-out in our Buildings teams.
Position Specific Responsibilities include :
* Coordination between all trades
* Compliance with specifications and drawings
* Interfaces between trades are detailed and resolved
* Long lead items are identified and scheduled
* Cost forecast of services trades
* Planning and programming the works with the Fitout teams
* Problem solving onsite as and when needed
* Attend design consultant meetings organise and chair workshop meetings
* Liaise with contract administration to contribute to evaluation of tenders in the context of site service co-ordination requirements scope of work and assessing value for money
* Input to program construction to ensure sequence of construction minimises conflict
* Arrange for all necessary documentation for the energising / de-energising of all services
* Manage the timely provision of temporary services in areas of responsibility to ensure adequate and safe conditions are continuously maintained
* Commissioning of systems in coordination with the project wide commissioning teams
Minimum requirements for this role are :
* 5-7 years experience in relevant discipline Electrical or Mechanical
* Masters or Undergraduate Degree in relevant discipline or
* Trade background with multidisciplinary services management experience
* Understanding of the Quality Safety Environmental and Projects Design Management Plans
* Quantitative and qualitative safety environment and quality risk management
* People and performance management including the performance of subcontractors
* Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
