The Client: Metro Healthcare Australia a trusted provider of in-home disability and aged care services across Australia. As a registered NDIS and My Aged Care provider, they deliver high-quality, person-centred support that empowers individuals to live independently and with dignity. They now seek a Human Resource Manager to join their team. The Role: The position for hire is for a full-time basis at $80,000 to 85,000 per annum, and will be based at their Eight Mile in Queensland. The Responsibilities: Manage the full HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management and workforce compliance Develop workforce plans to ensure enough qualified staff are available for disability and aged care services Manage recruitment for support workers, care workers, coordinators and administrative staff Ensure staff meet mandatory requirements, including police checks, NDIS worker screening, first aid, CPR and relevant qualifications Oversee onboarding so new staff understand procedures, duty of care, incident reporting, privacy and workplace standards Maintain HR policies, procedures and employment documents in line with workplace laws and care sector obligations Coordinate staff training in personal care, manual handling, infection control, medication support and client dignity Monitor staff performance and address conduct, attendance, service quality and communication issues Advise management on staffing shortages, employee relations, retention risks and workforce impacts Work with service coordinators to support client continuity, worker suitability, shift coverage and safe service delivery Manage grievances, disciplinary matters, performance plans and staff disputes with proper documentation Support Fair Work compliance, award conditions, employment contracts, leave entitlements and workplace safety requirements Maintain accurate HR records, including employee files, training records, Implement retention strategies to reduce staff turnover and protect service continuity Report to management on recruitment, turnover, training, compliance gaps and workforce risks The Requirements: At least a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field Advanced knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Australia Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS) Minimum 4 years' experience managing HR in disability, aged care, healthcare or community care services Minimum 4 years' experience managing workforce compliance, including NDIS worker screening, police checks, qualifications and mandatory training Minimum 4 years' experience recruiting, assessing and retaining frontline care workers in a regulated client support environment Minimum 4 years' experience handling complex employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters and performance management Minimum 4 years' experience managing workforce planning for mobile staff working across client homes and community settings Minimum 4 years' experience maintaining HR systems, staff records, compliance registers and audit ready employment documentation Strong understanding of NDIS, My Aged Care and safeguarding expectations for care workers Knowledge of Fair Work obligations, modern awards, leave entitlements and employment contracts Ability to assess worker suitability, reliability, communication style and client care attitude Experience managing staff shortages, urgent recruitment needs and high turnover risk Strong documentation skills for HR records, compliance files and management reporting Ability to advise management on workforce risk, staff conduct and retention issues
