The Role:
The Manager, Growth Area Infrastructure Planning will be responsible for leading the strategic infrastructure delivery and planning of growth areas, providing expertise in the delivery of infrastructure schemes and other delivery mechanisms in addition to expertise in strategic land use planning, sustainable development, growth area policy, project management, research and engagement approaches. You will hold the following responsibilities:
Provide professional growth area infrastructure planning leadership, services and support to project teams including overseeing and determining infrastructure priorities, strategies, and professional work standards for large scale land development processes, including infrastructure delivery frameworks to ensure they are timely and compliant with relevant legislation.
Provide professional high level of expertise to the preparation of a range of strategic infrastructure plans and delivery mechanisms, supporting background documents, including working with the Regional Planning and Planning and Design Code teams on structure plans and concept plans relating to infrastructure outcomes.
Initiate, proactively lead, and coordinate research and demanding evaluations as needed to inform complex planning projects, policy and issues as approved by the Director - delivering expert professional advice, recommendations, solutions, options for consideration and action within agreed timelines.
Provide expert advice on consultant procurement and contract management reports and current industry developments and prepare Ministerial Correspondence and recommendations on complex issues as the government's authoritative Growth Area specialist.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
Demonstrate high level experience and expertise in a broad range of strategic planning work, including matters relating to infrastructure planning and delivery, the preparation and implementation of structure and strategic plans, the development of planning policy and the co-ordination of land division design and assessment.
Expert skills in interpreting and applying developer contributions and analysing both strategic or technically complex documents, on a range of specialist professional topics, including infrastructure planning, land use and project plans and proposals.
Demonstrate high level experience and expertise in reviewing, assessing, and reporting on technical documents and engineering design drawings in relation to land divisions, major projects and strategic planning.
Significant experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, preparing project briefs, co-ordinating consultant fee proposals and project management of the design and delivery of land division.
Desirable Qualification:
Tertiary qualification in Urban & Regional Planning, or a related discipline with substantial experience in infrastructure planning, strategic planning and/ or growth area planning.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 2 years.
Remuneration:
PO5 - $124,449 p.a min - $130,253 p.a max.
