Where you'll be working: Join a passionate, multidisciplinary team at the New England Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (NEBIRS) – a community-based specialist service dedicated to supporting people aged 0–65 who have sustained an acquired brain injury, most often traumatic in nature. As a Physio within the team, you will work with patients aged ***** years old. Based in beautiful New England, you'll be part of a regional outreach team that helps clients transition from hospital to home and community life. We work in partnership with clients, families, and carers to deliver tailored, person-centred rehabilitation that restores independence, participation, and quality of life.
About The Role
We're seeking an experienced Physiotherapist who's ready to bring expertise, compassion, and creativity to this diverse and rewarding role. You'll provide specialist assessment, rehabilitation, and case management for clients across the region - supporting recovery and community reintegration every step of the way.
In This Role, You Will
Deliver physiotherapy across a variety of settings – from transitional living units and client homes to community environments and via virtual care.
Manage a complex community caseload guided by the NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program (BIRP) principles.
Collaborate closely within an interdisciplinary team and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders such as iCare, CTP insurers, and private rehabilitation providers.
Contribute to community education and provide expert advice across the local health district.
This position includes travel throughout the New England region as part of our outreach model – with travel time and vehicles provided.
About You
Demonstrated experience managing complex rehabilitation caseloads
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
A commitment to evidence-based, culturally respectful, and person-centred care
Experience mentoring or supporting others (highly regarded)

Requirements
Essential tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
Current eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances

Additional Information
Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. Please note: if your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive. To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part-time and temporary part-time vacancies.
