We are seeking a talented Mid‑Level Quality Engineer to join our client, a leading financial services institution. In this role, you will champion high‑quality software delivery, strengthen automated testing practices, and help drive excellence across complex, data‑rich systems.
About the Role
As a Mid‑Level Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in uplifting test automation capability and maturing quality practices across the organisation. You will design, build, and extend automation test frameworks, with a strong focus on Playwright‑based UI automation and automated data reconciliation testing —a critical area within financial systems where accuracy, consistency, and reliability are paramount.
Your technical curiosity, Agile mindset, and ability to work across diverse technologies will empower you to improve testing effectiveness and support high‑value delivery for customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Quality Leadership: Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote high standards of software quality.
* Test Automation: Design, implement, and maintain robust automation frameworks, with a focus on Playwright for UI/Web automation.
* Data Reconciliation Testing: Build and execute automated data‑reconciliation tests to validate data integrity across services, databases, and upstream/downstream systems.
* Integration & API Testing: Develop effective integration and API tests adhering to industry best practices.
* Cloud Technologies: Apply your experience in cloud environments (AWS preferred) to support testing and automation workloads.
* Collaboration: Partner closely with engineers, Product Owners, BAs, and business SMEs to design solutions that meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
* Problem Solving: Tackle complex quality challenges with creativity and a pragmatic approach.
* Additional Expertise: Experience with BDD frameworks, Postman, and test harness design is highly regarded.
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience with Playwright for UI test automation (required).
* Demonstrated capability in automated data‑reconciliation testing, including validating data flows, transformations, and consistency across systems.
* Hands‑on experience in integration testing, API testing, and test automation framework development.
* An Agile mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
* Experience within regulated or data‑sensitive domains (e.g., financial services) is advantageous.
