Environmental Scientist / Engineer (2–5 years)
Adelaide | Full-time
Start building a serious career in contaminated land consulting
Trilogy Consulting is a rapidly growing environmental and geotechnical consultancy specialising in contaminated land assessment and remediation, with a focus on complex brownfield redevelopment projects across Australia.
We work on some of the State's most technically challenging sites — former industrial facilities, large redevelopment footprints, and legacy contamination projects — and we're looking for an early-career Environmental Consultant ready to step up, get hands-on, and develop their career quickly under experienced leadership.
About the Role
This is a technically driven role suited to someone with 2–5 years' experience who wants exposure to real projects from planning and fieldwork through to delivery.
You'll work closely with senior consultants and directors on site investigations, remediation programs, and reporting to a high standard to address legislative and regulatory requirements, gaining strong technical foundations while developing confidence working with clients, contractors, and regulators.
Your work will span site and office environments, with meaningful responsibility and support as your capability grows.
Key Responsibilities
You will be involved in:
* Conducting contaminated land investigations, including soil, groundwater, soil vapour and surface water sampling
* Supervising drilling contractors and field works
* Preparing and implementing fieldwork programs and sampling plans
* Managing environmental data, including tabulation, interpretation and validation
* Assisting with the preparation of technical reports (DSI, PSI, SCAR, RAP, validation reports), including generating defensible and logical conclusions and/or recommendations
* Supporting remediation programs and risk assessments
* Working collaboratively with geotechnical, surveying, and specialist sub-consultants
* Maintaining strong safety practices in the field and on site
About You
You're technically curious, comfortable in the field, and ready to take ownership of your work.
You will likely bring:
* A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline
* 2–5 years' experience in contaminated land assessment and/or remediation
* Experience with soil, groundwater, and soil vapour sampling and contractor supervision
* A working understanding of key Australian contaminated land guidelines (e.g. NEPM, NEMP, CRC CARE, SA EPA guidelines) and a willingness to further develop this understanding.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* A practical, problem-solving mindset
* White card or other health and safety training would also be viewed favourably.
* A current driver's licence
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team
What We Offer
At Trilogy, early-career staff are trusted, supported, and given real responsibility — not parked on repetitive tasks.
You'll receive:
* Exposure to large, complex contaminated land projects
* Direct mentoring from senior consultants and directors
* Clear pathways for technical and career progression
* Competitive salary aligned with experience
* Flexible, outcomes-focused working arrangements
* A collaborative and inclusive team culture
* Ongoing professional development and training
We value people who want to learn fast, think critically, and do quality work — and we back them accordingly.
