Position

Position Title: Clinical Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Agency: South Metropolitan Health Service

Location: Rockingham

Unit/Division: Peel And Rockingham Kwinana Health Service

Closing Date: 4:00 PM

This is a recruitment pool for permanent full-time/part-time and fixed-term full-time/part-time appointments, with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 02/11/2026.

Responsibilities

- Provide intensive and high dependency care to critically unwell inpatients at Rockingham General Hospital and those presenting to the Emergency Department; services are also provided to Peel Health Campus.
- ICU duties include managing patients within an ICU funded for 10 beds (5 intensive care, 5 high dependency).
- Provide the following clinical capabilities: advanced mechanical ventilator support (invasive and non-invasive); advanced invasive haemodynamic monitoring and support; acute renal support; post-operative care for general surgical patients and maternity; support for organ donation.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

We require criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process; a Working with Children Check may be required for the role, along with a pre-employment health assessment. Referees may be contacted to comment on integrity and past ethical conduct. Adverse information will be considered as part of the process.
