The role of Specialist Accounts Assistant is a pivotal position within our Business Support and Finance team at Tropicana Gold Mine. This dynamic role offers the ideal candidate the opportunity to develop their skills in financial management and analysis.
About the Role
* Key Responsibilities:
Provide purchasing support services by requisitioning goods and services from operational personnel. Monitor invoices for accuracy and liaise with managers to ensure timely payment. Prepare accruals based on services received but not invoiced, ensuring accurate accounting records. Assist with month-end tasks, including journal entries, to maintain accurate financial records. Complete general ledger account reconciliations to ensure data integrity. Provide monthly cost reports to operational personnel, enabling informed decision-making. Coordinate the completion of weekly and monthly reports, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Maintain control files and comply with established management systems and processes, upholding SOX standards. Manage accounts receivable and contractor back charges efficiently, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
About You
* A strong foundation in basic accounting principles is essential for this role. Previous experience in SAP requisitioning, service entry, and purchase order analysis is highly desirable. Proficiency in MS Office software, particularly Excel and Word, is required. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for collaboration with other departments. Demonstrable attention to detail and accuracy are crucial for success in this position. The ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve business goals is vital. Previous mine site experience would be advantageous, but not mandatory. Experience dealing with auditors and audit preparation is also beneficial. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines is essential, as is unrestricted work rights in Australia.
