We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Accountant to strengthen our Australian finance team and ensure our financial reporting is accurate, timely, and reliable. In this role, you will take ownership of transactional accounting tasks and financial reporting activities, helping to improve efficiency and maintain strong financial control for Permobil Australia.
You will be responsible for general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis, as well as supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. You will work closely with colleagues across the accounting department to deliver compliant, high-quality financial information that supports sound decision-making.
This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. For the right candidate, the position can be fully remote, provided you have the capabilities, discipline, and communication skills to succeed in a distributed team setting.
Key Tasks
* Prepare supporting documents and create journal entries for routine business transactions (e.g. - prepayments, accruals, reclasses)
* Process stock transfers and raise financial only invoices and credits
* Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist in performing variance analysis on the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statement
* Support tax calculations, entries and schedules for filing
* Maintain Fixed Asset Register
* Support the monthly, quarterly and annual closings and report submissions
* Assist in providing information to the auditor at interim and year end audit
* Support with preparing ad hoc reports as needed

Your Background
* Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
* 3 years relevant experience
* Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting standards
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent communication skills
* Proactive and autonomous working
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
