We are partnering with a well-established commercial property owner/operator to appoint an In-House Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel to support a substantial and active property portfolio.
This role offers genuine breadth and autonomy, with a strong focus on commercial and retail leasing, combined with responsibility for disputes and litigation management. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Property Management, Leasing, Facilities and Directors, providing pragmatic, commercially minded legal advice.
Key focus areas
* Drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial and retail leases and related documentation
* Managing deeds including variations, renewals, assignments, surrenders and make-good
* Supporting disputes, enforcement and litigation matters, including instructing external counsel
* Advising on landlord/tenant risk, lease interpretation and compliance
* Providing broader commercial contract support across property operations
About you
* 8+ years PQE (or equivalent post-admission experience)
* Strong experience in commercial and/or retail leasing
* Exposure to disputes and litigation management
* Commercial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously in-house
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
