Aboriginal Traineeship – Operations Assistant

This is a targeted recruitment under Rule 26 of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014 where only Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander people are considered eligible to apply for this role.

Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney's western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

The NBMLHD Aboriginal Traineeship Program combines on‐the‐job experience with formal study delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), enabling trainees to complete a nationally recognised qualification while gaining practical skills. This program aligns with NSW Health's Aboriginal Workforce Strategic Framework 2023–2026, which emphasises the importance of building a strong, skilled and culturally supported Aboriginal workforce across the health system.
