OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our Karratha workshop team.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, Trades Assistants, and Apprentices.This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for ensuring all workshop activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.About MINPROVISEMINPROVISE is a total solutions provider offering specialist services and products supporting the mining, oil & gas, infrastructure & construction industries.
This includes the supply of onsite maintenance & repairs, shutdowns, project services, access services, fabrication, offsite repairs, remedial services and mineral processing equipment & products.
At MINPROVISE our vision is to provide innovative solutions in partnership with our clients.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Workshop Supervisor with the daily planning, scheduling, and coordination of workshop activities.Perform fabrication and dimensional checks as required.Provide mentoring, guidance, and leadership to Boilermakers, Fitters, TA's, and Apprentices.Ensure compliance with:ISO 9001 Quality Management SystemsISO 3834 Welding Quality RequirementsAS 5131 Structural Steel Fabrication StandardsTake accountability for maintaining Minprovise's ISO 9001 certification within workshop operations.Monitor work output to ensure quality standards and client requirements are met.Drive a positive safety culture and ensure strict adherence to HSEQ procedures.Qualifications, Skills & ExperienceTrade qualification as a Boilermaker or Sheet Metal Worker (essential).
Proven experience in heavy and light fabrication (essential).
Demonstrated leadership experience in a workshop or similar environment.Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and AS 5131 requirements.Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to train, support and develop apprentices and junior team members.Highly Regarded (Desirable)Line Boring experienceHeavy Mobile Equipment (GET) maintenancePressure piping experienceAluminium fabrication experienceWhat We OfferA leadership role with the opportunity to mentor and influence a skilled workshop team.Permanent, full-time position based in Karratha.Competitive remuneration and allowances.Supportive culture with a strong focus on safety and quality.Career growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding business.We will offer the right candidate the opportunity to work in our growing organisation with a dynamic working culture.
