The Flat Rate Technician (Tech) plays a critical role in living VIP's mission to EARN AUTOMOTIVE CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE. This individual must learn and embody the VIP culture, adhering to company processes to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The Tech works effectively and safely to ensure seamless communication, teamwork, and operations while serving customers.
The primary responsibilities include diagnosing automotive systems, repairing and replacing parts, fluids, tires, and accessories with precision and efficiency. Additionally, the Tech is accountable for upholding company safety protocols, loss prevention programs, and customer service standards as well as municipal, state, and federal regulations.
Key duties encompass ensuring workplace safety, completing all necessary training, locking out hazardous equipment, and reporting any unsafe conditions or actions. The Tech also participates in daily and weekly shop maintenance programs, adheres to established safety and loss prevention programs, and maintains a clean work area free of debris and stray tools.
This role demands high technical capabilities, ensuring safe use of service equipment and maintaining ASE certification status. The Tech actively supports and participates in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process, educates customers about their vehicle's condition, and adheres to strict compliance with the service Code of Ethics and all relevant regulations.
