About Us
We are a reputable Gold Coast Marine Dealership in sales and repairs with a Mercury service centre, established for 20 years.
Our main areas of business are retail sale of boats, motors, trailers and accessories. Together with our busy workshop, which specialises in servicing and maintenance of boats and motors, as well as installations and preparation of family boats and performance race boats.
We are looking for a reliable Marine Mechanic with experience, though we are also open to considering a second- or third-year apprentice who demonstrates a strong willingness to learn. An immediate position is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
· Inspect, diagnose, and repair motors and other systems
· Perform regular maintenance on engines (inboard/outboard), fuel systems, transmissions, steering systems, and cooling systems.
· Troubleshoot and repair marine electronics, such as GPS, sounders, radios, and navigation systems.
· Conduct water testing and other performance tests when necessary.
· Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
· Install new equipment such as engines, batteries and marine electronics.
· Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and maritime regulations.
· Keep tools and work area clean and organised.
· Participate in ongoing training and manufacturer certifications.
Requirements
· Position suitable for a fully qualified technician or consideration would be given to a competent third- forth year apprentice
· Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or similar mechanical role
· Strong knowledge of marine engines and systems
· Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
· Knowledge and ability to adhere to workplace health and safety procedures.
· Must be able to work in a team environment and able to work under instruction
· Must be willing to assist at Expo’s or Boat Shows outside normal hours if required
· Valid driver's licence
· Valid boating licence
Desired but not essential
· Experience in dealing with marine electronics including installation, diagnostics and repairs
· Valid forklift licence
