About the Role
Swinburne University is seeking a dynamic leader to establish and guide our new Social Work program. As Associate Professor, you’ll drive innovation in curriculum design, foster industry partnerships, and champion excellence in teaching and research. About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
· A national or international reputation as a leader in a relevant Social Work field (including research in that field) and a demonstrated ability to lead across the broader discipline area.
· Demonstrated ability to both lead and be an effective team contributor to the development, management and accreditation of courses in Social Work and inspire to deliver innovative course design in a multi-discipline setting.
· Strong knowledge and experience of online and blended education and its application.
· Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide variety of academics, work within a consultative, team environment in multi-disciplinary contexts, including an ability to work effectively with the senior executive of the school, university and relevant professions in industry and government.
· Ability to lead and implement a research strategy that delivers performance outcomes recognised at national and international levels, including promoting engagement of academic staff with research centres and through collaborations and joint research involving other universities, industry, the professions, NGOs and government.
Qualifications
· A PhD in Social Work.
· A recognised degree in Social Work.
· Membership with the AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers).
