Our client a Federal Government client is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an EL1 Program Assistant Director. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with Managers and business areas throughout the Agency contributing to the planning, delivery, and reporting of high-profile programs and projects. As the Assistant Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting informed decision-making across the Agency and collaborating with various stakeholders. Here are the key responsibilities you will undertake:
- Take a lead role in proactively developing innovative technical solutions to continuously improve and optimise the Agency's strategic business planning, performance reporting, and associated business systems.
- Develop and manage the annual investment cycle, work planning, budgeting, and program and project performance reporting requirements.
- Evaluate and present financial, performance, and risk assessment data to a range of audiences.
- Conduct health checks on projects at any point in their lifecycle or as requested by the Program Board, including capability assessments.
- Evaluate and guide the prioritization and scheduling of initiatives while providing advice and support to the team, the wider Agency, and its funding partners.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal and external resources and supervise staff as required.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Maintain a high level of written and oral communication, including the preparation of agenda papers, presentations, and briefing notes for the agency Executive, Working Groups, and high-level Committees as required.
**Skills/experience**
- Demonstrated experience in program and project management, including the coordination and management of business planning processes and organizational performance reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop proposals and strategies to optimize or improve business planning and performance reporting processes.
