You should have a proven track record of eliciting requirements and acquiring subject matter expertise. Your ability to work with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and seniority levels is essential.
Additionally, you will need significant experience working with science, information systems and ICT projects, particularly in software and systems development methodologies. This includes handling complex and ambiguous problems and finding solutions. Strong decision-making and judgment are necessary to provide high-level advice.
