We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Support Officer. As a key member of our support staff, you will play an integral role in helping people with disabilities thrive by supporting them to achieve their goals in environments outside of their everyday routine.
* This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is comfortable driving wheelchair accessible vans and has strong communication skills. You will work closely with customers to empower them to build independent skills and participate in daily life activities.
* As a Support Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:
o Providing active support to customers to maximise engagement and participation in their daily lives.
o Accompanying and supporting customers in various social activities such as going out for lunch or coffee, grocery shopping, classes, movies, or appointments.
o Promoting participation and social connection with customers' family and friends.
o Supporting customers with their daily living needs, including personal care, domestic tasks, meal planning, and personal administration.
o Writing reports, shift notes, travel records, and incident reports.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Comfortable driving wheelchair accessible vans.
* Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to different situations.
* A Certificate III or IV in a caring discipline is highly desirable.
* Ability to work in different locations and change locations on short notice within a designated area.
* Willingness to obtain relevant certifications and clearances.
