Howard Springs Bakery is seeking a skilled, qualified baker who strives to provide high quality baked items and customer service, while getting along with team members in an efficient and professional manner.
Candidates must be permanent residents or have appropriate Australian work rights.
A minimum of 1-2 years professional baking experience is required.
A trade qualification in baking is essential for this position.
This casual position requires flexible availability across various shifts.
Baker responsibilities:
· Demonstrate excellence in recipe design and execution with the ability to improve existing recipes where needed.
· Be organised, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques.
· Measuring and combining ingredients while using mixers, blenders, heat sources and other baking equipment.
· Perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products.
· Finish off baked goods with the use of icing, glaze, fillings, and decorations.
· Greet customers, answer their questions, process orders, and assure customer needs are met.
· Cleaning workstations and equipment while testing ingredients to ensure each item meets food safety and quality control requirements.
A current Food Safety certificate must be obtained within 30 days of commencement.
· Ensuring deliveries, inventory, and production are recorded accurately to keep the kitchen and bakery well-stocked and operating smoothly.
Baker requirements:
· Qualified baker.
· Drivers Licence.
· Strong communication, time management, and planning skills.
· Attention to detail.
· Basic math and computer skills.
· Willingness to work independently or with other team members.
· Flexibility to work around customer demands including early mornings, late nights, weekend, and holiday hours.
· Physical ability to work within a hot, hectic environment, standing for long periods of time, and lifting heavy items.
