We are seeking a highly skilled
Process Optimisation Engineer
to join an outstanding retail organisation on an initial 6 month contract. The role is hybrid located with the head office based in Melbourne's South Eastern suburbs.
Your role will be looking at how to review & optimise how the business delivers across multiple retail channels. You will analyse, design, and enhance end-to-end processes—removing bottlenecks, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the development of scalable omni-channel solutions.
This role requires excellent communication skills, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex retail and technology ecosystems into clear, actionable models.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed
business process models
to map workflows such as online shop, order management and fulfilment operations.
Conduct
operational modelling
to identify inefficiencies, constraints, and improvement opportunities across omni-channel environments.
Work cross-functionally to optimise processes and eliminate bottlenecks in retail workflows, systems, and service journeys.
Produce
logical and architectural models
that define high-level, technology-agnostic representations of applications, systems, and their interactions.
Define and document:
Processes: Structured workflows that ensure consistency, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Technology & Systems: Tools, platforms, and capabilities required to support end-to-end customer and operational processes.
Communicate findings and improvement recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Support transformation and delivery initiatives by providing models and insights that inform solution design.
About You
Strong experience in
process modelling
(e.g., BPMN, value-stream mapping).
Background in
operational optimisation
, workflow analysis, or business architecture.
Understanding of
omni-channel retail operations
, including the interplay between digital, store, and supply chain processes.
Ability to simplify complexity and articulate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with
logical/architecture modelling
concepts and frameworks.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
