The role
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented full-time or part-time Paralegal to join our Restructuring, Recoveries & Disputes team in the Perth office, on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for a 6-month extension."
In this role you will need to provide both accurate and timely support to the team, you will be a confident individual with a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.
Duties
* Drafting Notices, demands, pleadings and general correspondence
* Drafting statements of claim, judgments, writs of possession
* E-filing of court documents
* Assisting with the general management and running of files to meet client service level requirements and protect our clients' interests on all matters
* Telephone calls and general correspondence with clients, debtors and third parties to progress the files (involves taking instructions, negotiating proposals with debtors)
* Regular follow ups of security packets, process servers, court documents etc.
* Preparing discharge of mortgages and arranging settlement, as required
* Preparing files for eviction
* Identifying complex, sensitive and high risk matters and escalating them to a Lawyer
* Basic clerical duties associated with running your files
Our requirements
* Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for running a file
* Strong organisational skills to manage a large number of files at a time and meet deadlines
* Good interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, debtors and internal staff
* A team player, willing to help others when necessary
* Accuracy and attention to detail
