About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Critical Care Team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The successful candidate will have advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of social work.
* This permanent full-time senior position is located within our Intensive Care Unit and covers a range of clinical areas including respiratory, trauma, cardiology cardiothoracic, vascular, stroke and neurology.
* The role involves working with culturally and socially diverse patients and their families, as well as providing support to other areas within the hospital as required.
* Applicants must be able to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* To provide high-quality social work services to patients and their families in the Intensive Care Unit and other designated areas.
* To develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans that promote optimal patient outcomes.
* To participate in inter-professional teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care delivery.
* To provide education and support to patients, families and staff regarding social work issues and policies.
* To contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to social work practice.
Requirements
* Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* Advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of social work.
* Ability to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
