How will you contribute?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement & Contracts Officer to join our passionate team. In this role you play a key role in providing procurement and contract advice and services to staff and senior management. This role will report to the Manager, Project Assurance & Commissioning and the key responsibilities include:

* Ensure the Audit Office’s procurement and contract management framework is in line with the NSW Government procurement policy framework and better practice.
* Maintain templates (plans, agreements) and evaluation tools which meet the needs of the business.
* Provide timely and accurate advice to internal stakeholders on procurement and contract management requirements and principles.
* Monitor and accurately report on procurement activities across the organisation to ensure compliance with the procurement and contract management framework.
* Participate in tender and request for quote (RFQ) processes to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and probity principles.
* Assist the Manager, Project Assurance & Commissioning and internal buyers with supplier contract negotiations.
* Identify areas of procurement and contract management improvements and implement them in conjunction with the team.

What will you need to succeed?

The successful candidate will have experience across all aspects of procurement and contract management. They will be someone who is a self-starter and can work independently. They will also be someone who can work collaboratively with senior internal stakeholders to achieve value for money outcomes. The successful candidate will be someone who has an eye for detail, is prepared to question the status quo and continuously look for opportunities to improve our procurement and contract management practices. The successful candidate will be someone who can help the business build successful partnerships with key suppliers.

You will also need:

* a tertiary qualification in an appropriate business discipline
* demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management, preferably in a government setting but not essential
* sound knowledge of contemporary procurement and contract management practises
* to be an Australian permanent resident or citizen or New Zealand citizen.
* a successful police check

On offer is a 35-hour work week and a total remuneration package (including superannuation) from $119,689 to $160,556 per annum depending on your experience, skills and capabilities.

The Audit Office is committed to supporting flexible working arrangements to create a diverse, skilled and motivated workforce capable of delivering quality products and efficient services. Our standard way of working requires you to work at least 50% of contracted hours from either our head office, an auditee location, or a related worksite. If required, you can balance your attendance on-site over a month, with a minimum of one day per week in one of these locations.
