About the Role
As a Home Claims Assessor, you will be the face of Suncorp for customers who have experienced property loss or damage. You'll work across a variety of claim types—from everyday weather events to large‑scale natural disasters such as cyclones, bushfires and floods.
This is a mobile, on‑road role involving on‑site and virtual assessments, collaboration with builders and specialists, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
What You'll Be Doing
* Conduct on‑site and desktop assessments to determine property damage, policy coverage, scope of works and claim quantum
* Develop accurate, cost‑effective repair scopes in partnership with builders and specialists
* Communicate clearly with customers, Claims Managers, repairers and suppliers to keep claims moving smoothly
* Support Claims Managers by identifying customer resolution strategies and minimising escalations
* Determine fulfilment methods that balance customer needs with business outcomes
* Identify customers experiencing vulnerability and take appropriate action
* Respond to requests within agreed timeframes
* Travel and occasional deployment across Australia as required
What You'll Bring
* Experience in home insurance, building trades or previous assessing experience
* Trade qualifications or residential construction experience (essential)
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Ability to compile scopes of work and repair plans
* Confidence, resilience and a genuine passion for helping customers
* A full, clean driver's licence and access to your own vehicle
