ROLE: MID-WEIGHT INTERIOR DESIGNER
As a Mid-Weight Interior Designer at Bentley Workspaces, you will play a meaningful role in shaping purposeful, functional, and beautifully resolved workplace environments across Tasmania. Working closely with the Head of Design, you’ll support the development of design concepts, space planning, documentation, and client presentations within our integrated workplace strategy and design and construct methodology.

Responsibilities
- Support the development of design concepts, translating Optimal Workplace Strategy insights and client briefs into thoughtful and functional spatial ideas.
- Assist with preparing presentations, including mood boards, material palettes, layouts, and early concept packs for internal review and client meetings.
- Contribute to detailed space planning, helping develop workplace layouts that enhance flow, efficiency, and user experience while learning to apply NCC and Tasmanian building requirements.
- Produce accurate design documentation, including drawings, schedules, and specifications in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe tools, ensuring quality and constructability.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including strategy, estimating, project management, site teams, local suppliers, and building surveyors to support seamless project delivery.
- Assist with FF&E; research and selections, staying up to date with materials, local suppliers, workplace trends, and Bentley’s core product partners.
- Attend site visits with the Head of Design, assisting with measurements, photo records, construction reviews, and ensuring the design intent is maintained.
- Support client engagements, helping prepare responses to feedback, update drawings, refine design packs, and contribute to strong relationships built on clarity and collaboration.
- Maintain design files, samples, and documentation, ensuring the studio and design library is organised, current, and ready for project work.
- Contribute to pitch presentations, assisting in preparing visuals, diagrams, and sample boards that help Bentley secure new projects.
- Support team culture by showing initiative, asking questions, contributing ideas, and demonstrating Bentley’s drive for continuous improvement.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
- Two to four years of experience in commercial design (workplace experience advantageous but not essential).
- Proficiency in Revit (essential), with working knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong foundational space planning skills and a desire to deepen your understanding of workplace design principles.
- A growing confidence in client communication, presentations, and articulating design thinking.
- Basic understanding of NCC and Australian standards, particularly relating to commercial fitouts, with willingness to learn Tasmanian requirements.
- Solid eye for detail, materials, and finishes with a desire to refine your design craft.
- Ability to support multiple projects, stay organised, and manage time effectively.
- Collaborative, positive, and proactive mindset with a willingness to step in and own tasks.
