About the Position:
As a Cook at Ariel's Coffee Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in the kitchen team by preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of fresh, high-quality dishes that form the heart of our menu offerings.
This full-time position involves ensuring every meal meets our standards for taste, presentation, and consistency in a busy yet cosy café environment, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality and freshness before preparation
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to achieve optimal results
Prepare and cook a range of menu items including breakfast dishes, wraps, toasties, and other café meals
Season food appropriately during cooking to enhance flavours
Portion food, plate it attractively, and add gravies, sauces, garnishes, or accompaniments as required
Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain safety and quality standards
Prepare food to meet any special dietary requirements when requested
Maintain a clean and organised workstation in compliance with food safety regulations
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Relevant Certificate IV (Level 4) qualification or above in commercial cookery or a closely related field.
2–3 years of relevant working experience as a Cook in a café, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting.
Strong technical skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, portion control, and operating kitchen equipment safely.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a small kitchen team in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly with front-of-house staff, and maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude under pressure.
