BreatheSafe are a proud Australian company that strives to develop, manufacture and sell world leading dust control and air quality solutions to any industry that is exposed to dust or airborne contaminant, both locally and internationally. We're growing fast and are now looking for a hands-on Design Engineer to join our team in Carole Park.
About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the technical quality and reliability of our engineered solutions. In this hands-on role, you'll collaborate closely with our drafting, manufacturing, and installation teams to deliver accurate, validated designs that meet customer requirements, ISO standards, and our commitment to excellence. You'll contribute to impactful projects and thrive in a supportive, values-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct and create Finite Element Analysis (FEAs), technical documentation, and design packages.
* Perform engineering analysis and performance validation to ensure designs meet intended outcomes.
* Create or update design and manufacturing drawings as required to support project delivery and accuracy.
* Provide expert technical support and guidance to drafting team members.
* Engage with customers to define specifications and confirm technical requirements.
* Maintain design traceability and version control through Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
* Participate in design reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Hours of Work:
* Monday to Thursday: 5.30am – 2.45pm
* Friday: 5.30am – 11.30am
* Enjoy every second Friday off for a long weekend
* Flexibility Required: While standard hours apply, occasional adjustments may be needed to meet business demands, including collaboration with overseas teams.
What You'll Bring:
We're looking for a confident, solutions-focused engineer with a strong background in design. You'll have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
* Experiencein product design within a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred)
* Proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM
* Familiarity with ISO standards, design validation and traceability processes
* Strong stakeholder communication skills and a practical, hands-on mindset
* Experience with air filtration systems, HVAC, or related technologies (advantageous)
