Software Engineer (PeopleSoft) - 6-Month Contract | Perth
Lane8 Consulting is recruiting a Software Engineer with strong PeopleSoft experience on behalf of a leading Perth university. This is a 6-month day rate contract embedded within the client's University IT division, working alongside a well‐established core systems team.
The Role
You'll take ownership across the full software development lifecycle - from engaging with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, through to design, build, test, and ongoing support. This is a hands‐on engineering role with real scope to contribute to enterprise‐grade system improvements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and maintaining PeopleSoft applications and integrations
- Liaising with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into system requirements
- Providing input into solution designs and applying best practice development standards
- Managing application fixes, upgrades, and enhancements to agreed SLAs
- Contributing to quality control across design, build, and testing phases
- Documenting solutions consistently and accurately
- Mentoring junior team members where required
What We're Looking For
- Substantial hands‐on PeopleSoft experience (HCM, Finance, or Campus Solutions)
- Proven track record across the full SDLC
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise‐grade solutions
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within guidelines
- Requirements documentation experience across both agile and waterfall environments
- ITIL certification or working knowledge is desirable
- Higher Education sector experience is a bonus
- Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
