Overview
We are recruiting an Electrical Engineer - Earthing for our client based in Perth. The organisation is recognised for its technical expertise in earthing and grounding design across utilities, renewables, and major high-voltage infrastructure projects throughout Australia.
This role will support the delivery of detailed substation earthing designs and studies within a team of dedicated grounding specialists. It offers strong exposure to complex HV projects and the opportunity to further develop your technical capability in a focused and technically driven environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and analysis of earthing systems for high-voltage substations in accordance with relevant Australian and international standards.
Support detailed earthing studies including step and touch voltage assessments, ground potential rise analysis, and soil resistivity modelling.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings under the guidance of senior engineers.
Contribute to the development of practical, compliant, and constructible grounding solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate earthing design into overall substation and infrastructure layouts.
Attend site visits and support construction and commissioning activities where required.
Required Experience
Experience in electrical engineering with exposure to substation earthing or grounding design.
Working knowledge of specialist earthing software such as CDEGS, ETAP, PSCAD, or equivalent.
Experience supporting utility, renewable, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects is advantageous.
Understanding of relevant Australian standards and grounding best practice.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to technical detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
