Job Description
Bundaberg Sugar Group Ltd is a grower, miller, refiner, and marketer of sugar and related products in Australia.
The company is one of Australia's largest cane growers and owns and operates sugar mills in Queensland.
Bundaberg Sugar participates in all levels of the raw sugar industry in the districts in which it operates.
The company's activities span the full sugar processing cycle including cane growing, milling, refining, packaging and distributing sugar products to retail, industrial and export customers.
The company's other value-adding operations include Bundaberg Walkers, one of Australia's oldest heavy engineering and foundry enterprises; and Bundaberg Molasses which supplies molasses and related products to industrial and rural markets.
Bundaberg Sugar is seeking a highly skilled Fitter & Turner to join their team of professionals on a full-time and permanent basis.
Responsibilities
Be a member of the Emergency Response Team and attend training as required.
Carry out plant maintenance and capital works at the Millaquin site, covering equipment such as packaging equipment, conveyors, palletisers, pumps, fans, gearboxes, motors, vessels, valves and more.
Operate within a Computerised Maintenance Management System for all work undertaken.
Work in conjunction with parameters set by established condition-monitoring techniques.
Coach and assist other personnel within their roles where relevant.
Supply advice within competencies and skills regarding maintenance and related matters to contribute to safe and efficient operations.
Assist other personnel in establishing appropriate programmes and planning to ensure the availability of plant and equipment.
Assist with initiating and developing projects to enhance the availability and efficiency of packaging, refinery, and mill plant and equipment.
Complete logs, risk assessments, permits, assessments and other administrative duties related to the role.
Undertake fitting or other tasks (e.g., welding, pneumatics, hydraulics) within the level of skills held and as nominated to be used as part of the classification level.
Work effectively with the team to ensure that food safety and product quality is maintained in compliance with food safety standards.
Actively participate in the development and implementation of company safety initiatives and objectives.
Comply with statutory requirements and company policies, rules and procedures including those relating to WHS, HR, environment and quality.
Qualifications
Sugar milling or refinery experience and/or maintenance background (or a food processing industry background).
Current driver's licence.
Trade qualifications as an Engineering Tradesperson (Fitting or Fitting and Turning).
Experience in general fitting, basic welding, repair maintenance work.
Computer literacy and experience of using a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
Excellent verbal communication skills.

Salary
Between $75,000 and $80,000 per annum + Super.
