Townsville based Financial Planner

Carey Group is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join our growing Financial Advice team in North Queensland.

This role is suited to a planner who enjoys owning client relationships, delivering high‑quality advice and being part of a collaborative, professional team.
The opportunity
You will build and manage a portfolio of clients referred internally and sourced externally, delivering holistic advice across:
* Investments and wealth creation
* Retirement planning
* Insurance and risk management
* Tax‑effective strategies
You'll work closely with our accounting and administration teams to ensure advice is well‑considered, compliant and implemented efficiently.
Key responsibilities
* Build and manage a diverse portfolio of clients
* Meet with clients to understand goals and develop tailored financial strategies
* Prepare and present Statements of Advice (SOAs) and Records of Advice (ROAs)
* Monitor and review client strategies as circumstances and markets change
* Recommend and arrange appropriate insurance solutions
* Undertake product research and comply with licensee and regulatory requirements
* Maintain strong relationships with referral partners and service providers
* Deliver a consistently high standard of client experience
About you
* Tertiary qualifications in Financial Planning
* Eligible to hold (or currently hold) Proper Authority as an Authorised Representative
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships
* High attention to detail, organisation and time‑management skills
* Confident using financial planning software and Microsoft Office
* Commitment to professionalism, compliance and ongoing development
Desirable:
* 3+ years' experience in a similar role
* Experience using Xplan
