In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting functions that support the smooth financial operation of multiple construction projects.Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited ToOverall responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of the Accounts Receivable process, including claims, statutory declarations, certification, raising tax invoices, and collectionsEnsuring compliance with the Security of Payments Act and other relevant proceduresMonitoring debtor collections, following up on unpaid invoices, and escalating issues to the Finance Manager as appropriatePerforming daily bank reconciliations and maintaining and updating treasury files, including cash flow forecasting, managing bank guarantees and bonds, and processing new requests and returnsProcessing bonds recharges monthly, maintaining registers, and chasing any overdue bondsPerforming trust reconciliations and assisting with compliance-related matters (SOP, ABCC, QBCC, etc.)Collaborating with Contracts Administrators, Project Managers, and Commercial Managers to support project financials and provide assistance on AR mattersAssisting the Financial Control team with completing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy of balances with supporting documentationUtilizing systems such as CHEOPS and Excel for reporting and data management (training provided), and completing ad hoc tasks for the Financial Controller and CFOWhat We’re Looking ForMinimum 2 years’ experience working within a finance team, preferably in commercial or construction environmentsIntermediate proficiency in Excel and Word, including pivot tables, formulas, and reporting functionsGood verbal and written communication skills, with strong inter-personal skillsAccuracy, attention to detail, and understanding of underlying transactions before processingAbility to manage treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, trust reconciliations, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlinesDetermination to complete tasks to a high standard and drive to achieve objectivesExcellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with contract administrators, project teams, and multiple managersFocused on continuous improvement and able to demonstrate calm resilience in the face of difficultiesSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, under the direction and guidance of multiple managersWillingness to learn niche construction finance systems such as CHEOPS (training provided) and to comply with all RCC Management systems, procedures, and legal obligationsPrior construction industry experience is desirable but not essential; candidates from related finance backgrounds are encouraged to applyCommitment to professional development, with support available for CPA or CA study pathways, and a focus on creating a safe working environment
