Farmcraft, SE Qld's largest independently owned group of rural merchandise stores, has been operating since 1992. We employ over 60 staff across 5 branches strategically located across SE Qld.
We cater predominantly for rural property owners growing horticultural crops & pastures or running livestock, as well as rural contractors, hobby farmers, gardeners and pet owners.
An opportunity has arisen for a Branch Manager to join our team in Kalbar, in the heart of the beautiful Fassifern Valley (1hr to Brisbane, 1.5hrs to the Gold Coast).
The position would ideally suit an experienced Rural Merchandise Store Manager looking to take on a new challenge, or an agribusiness professional with experience in management & sales.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Oversee the day-to-day operation of the branch, ensuring a great customer service experience and strong customer relationships
* Managing an experienced and enthusiastic small team; providing leadership, direction and coaching to enhance performance of the team
* Maximising budgets and profitability through effective stock management and purchasing
* Execute and maintain all processes relating to stock integrity
* Business development & key account management
* Ensure the general merchandising, housekeeping and maintenance of the branch meets a high and safe standard
* Create and maintain excellent relationships between branches and with our business partners/suppliers
* Provide outstanding customer service via phone, email and in store
* Oversee and ensure safe branch practices
Skills, Experience & Attributes:
* Previous experience working in a similar role involving management and retail sales, ideally with a proven sales history
* Previous experience or strong understanding of stock and expense management with a basic understanding of financial practices
* Strong people skills; able to mentor and lead a team
* Proven customer service and organisational skills
* Able to analyse problems and strategise for better solutions
* High attention to detail with ability to prioritise and execute tasks
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge or understanding of Horticulture, Agricultural Chemicals, Animal Health, Stock Feeds and Fencing would be a distinct advantage
* Able to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently
* Computer literate with intermediate Microsoft Office skills
* Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
The following attributes are desirable but not essential:
* Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture
* Forklift ticket
The salary on offer will be commensurate with experience.
