We have multiple casual positions for Gallery & Museums Officer(s) based across the City of Logan. The Creative Industries Program is designed to make a difference through engaging our community in inspiring art and cultural experiences and opportunities.
Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to assist the Art Gallery Coordinator or Museum Curator in providing a high level of service and support to Logan Art Gallery, Living Museum of Logan and Mayes Cottage house museum and Creative Industries activities as required. Responding to customer enquiries in a courteous and timely manner, preparing exhibitions and accompanying materials, including labels and didactics, to a high standard and installation at the various venues within the region.
Responsibilities
Assist the Art Gallery Coordinator or Museum Curator.
Respond to customer enquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
Prepare exhibition materials, including labels and didactics, to a high standard.
Install exhibits at various venues within the region.
Support Creative Industries activities as required.
Skills & Qualifications
* Ability to work Tuesday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm and after hours on some occasions
* Current 'C' class licence
* Current Paid Working with Children Blue Card
* Fundamental oral, written and administrative communication skills, including excellent telephone and numeracy skills
* Attention to detail and organisational skills in a fast‐paced team environment
* Computer literate with keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
* Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
* Dependability, self‐motivation and enthusiasm
* Cultural awareness and knowledge of art, culture and heritage
* Openness to creative ideas and visitor responses to exhibits
