Graduate Mine Geologist role at Vault Minerals, Darlot Gold Mine, offers hands-on technical experience, FIFO roster, and career growth in a agile, expanding gold mining company.
Your role
Responsibilities
- Assisting with underground mapping and sampling to minimise ore loss and dilution and increase geological understanding of the deposit
- Completing stope and airleg inspections
- Learning to provide mining direction to ensure optimal ore position for stoping
- Ensuring all data captured is recorded accurately
- Assisting in entry of production data and preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Liaising with Mine Geologists to assist with ROM ore stockpile management to optimise the blend into the Process Plant
- Reporting daily grade control activities
- Undertaking diamond core processing, including logging, mark-up and orientation, sampling, and other related measurements
- Working closely with experienced professionals to build a strong industry foundation and gain exposure to a broad range of technical and practical tasks
About you
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology (essential)
- Current C-class WA driver’s licence
- Ability to observe safety rules and regulations
- Good physical health
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to work as part of a small and autonomous team
- Effective communication skills with staff at all levels
- Vacation work experience within the mining industry, ideally within gold mining, is highly regarded
- Full Australian work rights
