VCE Media Arts/English Teacher
to join the Secondary team at
Gilson College.

The focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. The classroom teacher will teach a range of students/classes and is accountable for the effective delivery of their programs. The classroom teacher utilizes critical reflection to improve knowledge and skills to better engage students and improve their learning. An integral aspect of the planning is to embed the characteristics and values of the Seventh-day Adventist school system in all aspects of learning and teaching.

The successful candidate will demonstrate that they:
Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes
Use critical reflection to improve the knowledge, learning and skills of students
Use multiple sources of feedback on their classroom practice to inform their professional learning goals
Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system
Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos
Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students
Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
Dedication to evidence-based teaching practices and ongoing professional development
Time management and organisational abilities
Current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
Role Requirement:
Hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Education
Hold Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching or be eligible to apply for registration

These positions are subject to maintaining registration with VIT
The salary range is $******k based on years of experience.
