MULTIPLE ROLES AVAILABLE!! We are looking for a talented and experienced Marine Welder / Boilermakers (Aluminium Specialist) to join our team. The successful applicant will become part of our Cairns team, enjoying competitive pay and full penalty rates.
About this Role:
* Fabrication of new aluminium structures
* Deck repairs and replacements
* Watertight door and hatch installations
* Working with pipes, tanks and other aluminium components
Key Responsibilities:
* Performing high-quality aluminium welds using various techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG)
* Ensuring welds meet stringent quality standards and classification society requirements
* Reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings
* Following safe work practices and adhering to all safety protocols
* Contributing to a positive and productive team environment
* Working independently and as part of a team on various projects
To be Successful in this role you will need:
* Completion of a relevant vocational qualification in welding or engineering
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in coded welding, specifically with aluminium
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Demonstrated expertise in aluminium welding using TIG and MiG processes
* Experience working in a shipyard or marine environment is a strong preference
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to safety and quality workmanship
What We Offer:
* Earn $45 to $55 per hour once coded. Experienced welders will be required to get qualified in a minimum of 6 weld procedures and be coded.
