About Our Culinary Team Member
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to take on a key leadership role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in daily operations and ensuring high-quality food delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to our restaurant's high standards.
* Work closely with the Head Chef to plan and develop new menu items and specials, as well as improve kitchen processes.
* Lead and supervise the kitchen team when the Head Chef is absent, maintaining smooth operations across all sections.
* Oversee food preparation, portion control, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
* Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices in line with local regulations.
* Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and procedures.
* Ensure effective communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams for an exceptional customer experience.
Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management.
* Minimum one year's relevant experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
* Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations, cooking methods, menu development, and food safety standards.
* Demonstrated experience supervising or leading kitchen staff.
* Excellent time management, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
