About the ATO

What you’ll do
Get smarter about data
With some of the largest data sets in government, you’ll work with cutting-edge technologies and advanced analytics to improve process efficiency and drive smarter decision-making. As a data scientist, engineer or analyst, shape your career at the ATO with predictive modelling, machine learning, data mining and prescriptive analytics.
With a qualification in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM), the Data stream is the perfect pathway to model your future career. You could:
* convert data into breakthrough insights and actions to deliver value for taxpayers, staff, and partner agencies
* use data analysis modelling techniques to address problems and support data-driven decision making
* design, build and maintaining systems to collect, process, and efficiently manage large volumes of data
* establish and oversee effective data, analytics and AI governance
* use advanced techniques to collect, analyse, and interpret data using analytical, statistical, and programming skills
* implement new technologies designed and created to enhance the ATO's work.
