Position Summary: The Orchard Netting Systems Installer is responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of permanent agricultural netting structures over commercial orchards. The role involves skilled installation work at height, use of machinery and elevated work platforms, and adherence to strict safety and engineering requirements. This is a technical infrastructure role, not general farm labour.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install large-scale orchard netting systems, including posts, cables, anchors, tensioning systems, and net structures
- Perform installation work at heights using elevated work platforms, ladders, and safety harness systems
- Interpret site layouts, measurements, and installation plans
- Operate tools, machinery, and equipment required for structural installation
- Secure and tension netting systems to meet engineering and safety specifications
- Conduct on-site safety checks and comply with WHS requirements, including working-at-heights protocols
- Assist with maintenance, adjustment, and repair of existing netting infrastructure
- Work across multiple orchard sites within the region and across Australia for up to 10 days away from home at a time.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience in structural installation, construction, or agricultural infrastructure installation
- Demonstrated experience working safely at heights
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements
