Job Description
* Monitoring and Control: Our ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the central control room systems for all major process lines, including equipment commissioning, startups, shutdowns, and emergency condition management. They must maintain a continuous observation of all operation condition indications and trends, responding promptly with appropriate action to achieve optimum outputs and process stability.
Key Responsibilities
* Plant Safety: The control room operator will continuously monitor plant process lines using available tools to ensure employee safety, stable equipment operation, equipment integrity within prescribed design limitations, operating targets, and environmental regulations.
* Quality Control: This individual will be responsible for controlling product quality at all stages of the cement manufacturing process by having a clear understanding of the targets and the levers that are used to control the targets.
* Team Collaboration: The control room operator will coordinate with production process operators and shift team leaders to ensure effective running of the plant. They will also act on control system alarms and escalate to plant resources to troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain plant equipment as required.
Requirements
* Experience: A minimum of 3 years of previous experience as a control room operator or CCR in a cement manufacturing process is required. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years' experience working in the cement industry is necessary.
* Qualifications: Certificate-level qualifications or higher in a related area are preferred.
* Skills: The ability to use critical thinking and sound judgment in quick decision-making is essential. Complex problem-solving skills, demonstrated through success in a central control room, are also required. An elevated level of computer literacy skills and ability to operate job-related systems are necessary.
