We are seeking an experienced Community Liaison Officer to support the delivery of road infrastructure projects across the Sunshine Coast on a 0.2 FTE basis. This role is suited to a highly capable communicator with proven experience working on Sunshine Coast Council road projects and managing community engagement in active construction environments.
About the Role
You will be the primary point of contact between the project team, Sunshine Coast Council, local residents, businesses, and key stakeholders. The role focuses on maintaining positive community relationships, managing enquiries, and ensuring clear, timely communication throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main community contact for Sunshine Coast Council road projects
* Deliver community and stakeholder engagement activities aligned to a 0.2 FTE workload
* Prepare and issue project notifications, traffic updates, and construction notices
* Manage community enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and efficiently
* Liaise closely with project managers, site teams, and Council representatives
* Attend community meetings, site briefings, and stakeholder sessions as required
* Maintain accurate records of engagement activities and reporting
About You
* Demonstrated experience as a Community Liaison Officer on Sunshine Coast Council road or civil infrastructure projects
* Strong understanding of Council requirements, processes, and community expectations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage sensitive community issues with professionalism and empathy
* Highly organised and able to work autonomously
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and stakeholder management systems
* Current QLD drivers licence
