Occupational Therapist - Mental Health Inpatient Unit

Location: Waag Wagga Mental Health Inpatient Units. The inpatient units are committed to providing recovery oriented and innovative approaches to care, recognising consumers with mental health issues as experts in their own condition and striving to provide an optimistic, holistic and positive approach to care with a focus on collaborative decision making and social inclusion.
What You’ll Be Doing
Delivering high quality recovery services to consumers in accordance with the ethics and standards established by AHPRA for Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist will provide professional recovery-oriented services to both consumers and families/carers through interventions such as:
- psychosocial assessment
- identification of goals
- motivational interviewing
- guidance and support to achieve goals
- the provision of information
- referral and advocacy
- group program design, implementation, facilitation and evaluation
Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist will be based in the Waag Wagga Mental Health Inpatient Units and will be actively involved in the development and provisions of a broad range of structured activities and rehabilitation programs, with additional responsibilities around Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention. The role is accountable to the Acute MH Inpatient Unit Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and involves collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Supervision is available from the Allied Health Manager and the Senior Occupational Therapist within the wider Mental Health Inpatient Units Allied Health Team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A recognised degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

- Remuneration: $73,427.00 - $104,753.00 per annum (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)
