As an Approved Provider of Aged Care services, we deliver the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), Home Care Packages (HCP), and the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role contributes to the implementation and administration of human resource systems, policies, and processes across the employee lifecycle.The HR Officer plays a key role in employee onboarding and exit, records management, recruitment coordination, training compliance, and HR reporting.
The position supports a positive and professional workplace culture that aligns with GCLA's values, ensures legislative compliance, and enhances workforce capability and engagement.Key Responsibilities1.
Human Resource Operations and SupportSupport the HR Business Partner in the day-to-day operation of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, induction, learning and development, and offboarding.Prepare and issue employment contracts, variation letters, and other employee documentation in line with GCLA policies and industrial instruments.Maintain and update employee records, registers, qualifications, and training logs across HRIS and filing systems.Assist in the administration of probation, performance review, and disciplinary processes in accordance with organisational procedures.Respond to general HR queries and provide timely, accurate information to managers and employees.Maintain and manage HR templates, forms, workflows, and process documents.2.
Recruitment, Induction, and ComplianceCoordinate job advertisements, shortlisting, interview scheduling, and reference checks as required.Ensure compliance with pre-employment screening, including police checks, NDIS Worker Screening, Blue Cards, and mandatory training modules.Support smooth onboarding and induction of new employees including preparation of onboarding kits and system access.Monitor expiry of staff qualifications, licences, and mandatory training and coordinate renewals or follow-up.3.
Learning and Development AdministrationMaintain training schedules and records for internal and external learning.Assist with the planning and coordination of staff training, development programs, and induction sessions.Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements and escalate concerns to the HR Business Partner.4.
HR Reporting, Projects and SystemsMaintain accurate and confidential employee data across systems and platforms.Generate standard HR reports including headcount, leave balances, attrition, and compliance registers.Provide support for HR projects including policy reviews, workforce planning, and staff engagement activities.Contribute to the development and improvement of HR systems and internal processes.5.
Organisational SupportPromote a workplace culture aligned with GCLA values and inclusive practices.Actively contribute to continuous improvement in HR processes and internal customer service.Provide administrative support to the HR Business Partner and Corporate Services Executive as required.Represent the HR team professionally in staff interactions, internal meetings, and communication activities.6.
Other DutiesMaintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion at all times.Comply with all GCLA policies, procedures, and statutory obligations.Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the HR Business Partner or Corporate Services Executive.Mandatory Position RequirementsDiploma qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline (or working toward)Prior experience in a human resources, administration, or compliance roleStrong knowledge of confidentiality, privacy, and compliance principlesNDIS Worker Screening CheckQueensland Driver's LicenceNDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)Desirable Attributes and ExperienceExperience in aged care, disability, or not-for-profit sectorFamiliarity with enterprise systems such as HRIS, payroll, or recruitment softwareUnderstanding of awards, employment legislation, and Fair Work obligationsHighly organised with the ability to manage competing tasks and deadlinesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamUniversal ResponsibilitiesProvide quality service to internal and external stakeholdersActively contribute to team consultation and service transformationThink safety in all actions and comply with Work Health and Safety Act 2011Be attentive and report suspected breaches of policy or legislationMake informed decisions, respect confidentiality, and exercise sound judgementSupport and promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and kindnessSafety and WellbeingFulfil obligations outlined in GCLA's Work Health and Safety PolicyMonitor workplace conditions and proactively report risks or hazardsParticipate in WHS training and activitiesTake reasonable care of personal and colleague health and safetyWhy Join GCLA?
